i have a Magicjack, and personally i love it. my favorite feature is being able to set the Magicjack to automatically forward the calls to a cell phone. get a prepaid phone and put the least amount of minutes on it you can, then when someone calls you call them back with magicjack. i was paying $40 a month for phone service but now i pay $10 and that also pays for my cell. i don’t understand why people are complaining.

yes, if both of you have magic jack you can call each other with no problem, it’s like you guys have both a US phone number but live outside the US.
My wife took magic jack with here on an overseas trip, and she call to our home phone number with no problem, the quality is amazing, but I suggest not to use the internet while you are on call

Bottom line you can hang up on Jason at Tech Crunch and talk to yourself. I have one it works great I even have tested it for faxes, and tested it with dial up both work great.

thats it why you use wireless and a lap top that way you have it all the time, and then it is mobile. If you have a cam for the lap top you can upload a video of your house burning while your waiting on 911 to send responders.

Use the extension cable you are just asking to snap the device off without it.

Same goes for ALL voip services, if they go down ur screwed, anyway for magic jack I’d recommend having a small pc set aside that runs all your phones… and keep it going 24/7. restart it once a week and it should work just fine

Ok…assuming you don’t tell windows to disable autorun, magicjack will show up as a usb storage device…and autorun the software on the magicjack itself. If you do disable your autorun, you’ll have to access the magicjack drive and run the software yourself. This thing is awesome.
