Roni Deutch has settled at least one suit brought by a state attorney general on behalf of disgruntled clients. The problem is that you think you are being promised that you will get your pennies on the dollar deal with their help but there is no way that any one can guarantee success. I handle the same kinds of cases (for considerably lower rates) and tell clients what they are going to need to come up with and not promise anything other than Straight facts and the best result that can be produced based on their individual situation. IRS might determine that based on its allowable expense standards you can pay your liability in full or at least more than you have offered. You might also not be able to pay anything at all right now in which case the account can be put on the back burner until your situation improves. I don’t know the answer because I don’t have your facts.
